VROOM AGAIN: Laurie Blume
(with Kathleen Wilson)
at Artopolis, a Greek Lunch Deli near UIC
in Chicago, June 5, 2006
It was noisy in the cafe, and a little hard to hear, but you will get the idea, and if you read along...you will understand it all. This is Laurie's poem published by Don Cambell in the informal collection of DMV poets called Vroom, published for National Poetry Month. Kathleen, in Chicago for a family event was happy that Laurie could meet her and her husband at the cafe, and that this Vroom reading could happen! The two takes are different...it is worth watching both. Thanks to my husband Rick for making these entertaining tapes of the reading!
Hallowed halls of pink and sex
A multitude of choice before me
Feed my hunger with silk, lace and spandex
Tempt me with frothy sheer creations
Ravenously seizing as much as I can
Concealed in our own private chamber
We begin our ardent love affair
The first stroke of your soft caress
The smooth satin touch against my skin
And I am gone.
Lost to your erotic seduction
Your beauty upon my velvet skin
You cup my breasts tightly
You breathe new life across my hips.
I cannot live without your pink lacy touch
Sinfully wrapped around my skin
Will that be cash or credit?
