Flute systems from Paul Wetzger's Die Flöte,
1905
The following pages appear in a booklet Die Flöte
by Paul Wetzger, published by C. F. Schmidt, Heilbronn, in 1905.
These flutes were all is use at that time in Germany (though I doubt
that the Giorgi flute, manufactured in England, was really used much).
Wetzger was a player of the reform flute.
From left to right, the flutes shown are
- Giorgi flute (line drawing)
- Meyer system flute
- Ziegler system flute
- Pupeschi system flute
- Schwedler-Kruspe system
- Alto Boehm flute
- Reform flute
- Conical Boehm flute (Bürger style)
- Wooden Boehm flute
- Metal Boehm flute
